Nadine Francois

Nadine Francois (b.1962) is a watercolour artist living and working in the South of France, close to her native city of Nice.

Fascinated by art since she was a young girl, and following her return to France after several years living in New York, Nadine formalised her studies of art in her 30’s by attending the Artigraph School of Art & Design in Nice for three years. From here she moved to Rural Surrey in England where she combined her love and practice of watercolours with her love of the French language and gave lessons in both to mature students and small groups. During this time she led study tours to St Tropez et La Rochelle.

Returning to the South of France in 2010, Nadine rediscovered the unique luminosity and harmony of colours that have fascinated painters and visitors alike since the Belle Époque both on the Cote d’Azur and in the mountains and countryside near Nice that she now calls home.

Nadine’s paintings can be found in private collections from California to New York and London to Tokyo. She has performed many private commissions, notably of homes and grand hotels. For the past six years she has held an annual exhibition in the renowned, historic Vauban fortified citadel town
